Panama ResortsPanama resorts are springing up all over the country, and we don't see an end in sight! As of the year 2000, there were literally no inclusive or non-inclusive resorts in the country. There were old establishments that were built in the 1970s, but were very poorly maintained and experienced very little commercial activity. However, with Panama's independence of the Panama Canal and its renewed sense of sovereignty, a number of local and international resort development groups embarked on ambitious but disciplined development efforts. As a result, we have seen a healthy growth of resort destination all throughout Panama, complementing the highly regarded Panama real estate boom. The most popular all-inclusive resorts have been development on Panama's beaches, within 90 minutes driving distance of Panama City. The most popular resort is called The Royal Decameron Hotel & Beach Resort, and was developed on the beach town of Farallon. It offers a variety of high-end amenities such as fishing, diving and golfing on its championship 18-hole course. Next door, another very popular resort is running extremely high occupancy - Playa Blanca Hotel & Resort. The developers of this property have also integrated a master planned, well thought out residential component to the complex, and have recently announced the development of the second-largest pool in the world! Outside of these two well know resort destinations, we have seen numerous other projects that have been delivered or are still in planning stages. These include resorts in the Pearl Islands, the Caribbean region of Portobello, Gatun Lake and those in the Azueros region. Panama's tourism industry is booming, and resort destinations are accounting for a large part of its growth. Be sure to book yourself a room at one of Panama's fantastic resorts to truly experience what the country has to offer! |
